Blanche Karen Eubanks was born in 1948 and raised in Alexandria, Indiana.   Karen has three older sisters:  Betty, Barbara, and Ginger.  Her parents, Alice and Delmer Eubanks, moved to Los Angeles in 1958.  Karen graduated from Bell Gardens High School in 1966.  She married Michael P. Garofalo in 1967.  Karen and Mike lived in Biloxi, Mississippi; and for decades in Bell Gardens and Hacienda Heights, California.  Karen attended Gulf Coast Junior College and California State University at Los Angeles. 

Our daughter, Alicia June, was born in 1975.   Our son, Michael Delmer 'Mick', was born in 1980.  Our children attended public schools in Hacienda Heights, and in Red Bluff, California. 

Karen and Mike moved to Red Bluff, California, in 1998.

Karen now works as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for the Tehama County School District.  She enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, computer software, the Internet, photography, genealogy, and family activities. 

Alicia and Sean Flinn live in Portland, Oregon.  Both Alicia and Sean graduated from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona.  Alicia is the Assistant Manager at the Enterprise auto rental business in Beaverton, Oregon; and, Sean is in the construction financing and insurance business.  

Mick is a student of culinary arts at Shasta Community College, and works part time as a cook. 

One of our parents is still alive, and we have three sisters and two brothers.

 

Michael Peter Garofalo was born in 1946 and raised in East Los Angeles, California.  Mike has two younger brothers: Paul and Philip.  His late parents, Michael J. and June Garofalo, lived in East Los Angeles their entire lives.  Mike graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a B.A. in Philosophy in 1967, and received his Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Southern California.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1969-1973.  He was a professional librarian for 25 years in a variety of increasingly responsible positions with the County of Los Angeles Public Library System.  He retired early from his position as Library Administrator at the County Library in 1998. 

Mike now works three days each week as the District Librarian, Library Media Teacher, for the Corning Union Elementary School District (K-8).  He is a graduate student at California State University at Chico studying for
a Master of Arts degree in Education. 

Mike's personal interests and hobbies include:  gardening and landscaping at our home, developing Internet web sites, walking adventures, reading and writing, T'ai Chi Ch'uan training, poetry, playing string figure games, and enjoying activities with family and friends.
