and, I am on the current approved list of Substitute Teachers for the Tehama County
Public Schools.
I enjoy helping children learn, helping
them become aware and responsible persons,
helping them make their time at school into a positive experience, and helping them
accomplish the daily objectives set by their teachers.
Master of Science in Library Science, University of Southern California.
Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, California State University at Los Angeles.
I now work as the Technology and
Media Services Supervisor for the Corning
Union Elementary School District (K-8), .6 FTE, usually on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school year. I manage 5 school
libraries, 3 computer labs, school websites, and write and manage grants.
I have worked part-time (.6 FTE) for the Corning Union Elementary School
District since 1999.
In 1998, I retired as a Library
Administrator for the County of Los Angeles Public Library;
after thirty years of public library service in Los Angeles County. I was a leader
in the
introduction of new audio-visual media, library automation, and management information
systems for one of the largest library systems in the United States. For fourteen
years,
I was the Regional Administrator for 17 very busy libraries in the East San Gabriel
Valley.
I have completed many additional courses in
education, business administration, philosophy,
computer software, counseling, yoga,
staff training, Tai Chi Chuan and
Qigong, and supervision.
I am a good public speaker, an outgoing
leader, a cheerful and friendly person,
and present a energetic and professional appearance.
I was elected to serve as a Trustee on the
Gerber Elementary School District Board
in Red Bluff, California, and served on that School Board for four years
(2000-2004).
I worked as the Certificated
Library Media Teacher, District Librarian, for the
Corning Union Elementary School District (K-8), 1999-2003, .6 FTE. As a graduate
student at the CSU
Chico Department of Education from 1999-2003,
I earned 32 units
with a 3.8 GPA. I have passed the following standard examinations: the CBEST in
10/1999,
the MSAT in 9/2000, the RICA in 6/2001. I needed only to complete the
Student Teaching class (9 units) to fulfill all the requirements for the
Multiple
Subject Teaching Credential (K-8) with CLAD.

I am responsible for the management of 5 school library media centers located at
the Maywood Middle School, Olive View Elementary School, West Street Elementary
School, Woodson Elementary School, and the Rancho Tehama Elementary School.
I am also responsible for the managment of three computer labs. I supervise two
full time
and two part time classified employees. I am the webmaster
for these schools.
I write and manage grants. This is a part-time
classified position: .6 FTE.

I was responsible for the management of the school library media centers located at
the Maywood Middle School, Olive View Elementary School, West Street Elementary
School, and Rancho Tehama Elementary School. I supervised three library clerks,
developed
library collections, implemented grant projects, managed budgets, and worked cooperatively
with teachers and administrators. I assisted students using library and media
resources,
finding good books to read, expanding their knowledge, improving their reading skills,
learning to use computer software, and doing Internet and print media research. In
2002,
I created the CUESD
School Libraries/Media Centers Website. This was a part-time
certificated teacher's position: .6 FTE.

I shared this classified position with Mrs. Judy Carter. This was a part-time
certificated teachers position: .5 FTE.
This middle school library has 27 computers used by students for learning typing,
word processing, and for educational games. Eight computers are used by
students and teachers for Internet access and Microsoft software applications.
The library has four computers for library software applications and the on-line
catalog (Follett). The library has a collection of over 8,500 books and 20 magazine
subscriptions, and circulates over 4,300 books each month. I assisted students
(Grades: 6-8) using library resources, doing
Internet
and print media research,
finding good books to read, learning to use computer
software, expanding their
knowledge, and improving their reading skills.
