Qualifications

I possess a current and valid California Substitute Teaching Permit.   (3/1999-3/2011).  I am on the current approved list of Substitute Teachers for the Tehama County Department of Education, Red Bluff, Tehama County, California.  Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, #101089331, 4/1/2010-4/1/2011; valid permit from 4/1999-4/2011.

I currently work for the Corning Union Elementary School District in Corning, California.  I work three days each week, Tuesday - Thursday, as the Technology and Media Services Supervisor and Grants Coordinator for the Corning Union Elementary School District, and have been employed in this position since 1999.  I manage five school libraries, act as the webmaster for the district, advise on educational technology, and write and manage grants.  As an employee for this school district I have kept all required immunizations, CPR, and other certifications up-to-date.

I have considerable experience in grant writing for school districts and other organizations.  I have also managed numerous grants.

I enjoy helping children learn, helping them become aware and responsible persons, helping them make their time at school into a positive experience, and helping them accomplish the daily objectives set by their teachers.

Master of Science in Library Science, University of Southern California.

Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, California State University at Los Angeles.

I am a string figures performer and workshop presenter.

In 1998, I retired as a Library Administrator for the County of Los Angeles Public Library; after thirty years of public library service in Los Angeles County.  I was a leader in the introduction of new audio-visual media, library automation, and management information systems for one of the largest library systems in the United States.  For fourteen years, I was the Regional Administrator for 17 very busy libraries in the East San Gabriel Valley.

I have taught yoga, tai chi chuan, qigong, pilates, and spin cycling at the Tehama Family Fitness Center in Red Bluff since 2004.

I have completed many additional courses in education, business administration, philosophy, computer software, counseling, yoga, staff training, Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong, and supervision.

I am a good public speaker, an outgoing leader, a cheerful and friendly person, and present a energetic and professional appearance.

I was elected to serve as a Trustee on the Gerber Elementary School District Board in Red Bluff, California, and served on that School Board for four years (2000-2004).

I worked as the Certificated Library Media Teacher, District Librarian, for the Corning Union Elementary School District (K-8), 1999-2003, .6 FTE.  As a graduate student at the CSU Chico Department of Education from 1999-2003, I earned 32 units with a 3.8 GPA.  I have passed the following standard examinations: the CBEST in 10/1999, the MSAT in 9/2000, the RICA in 6/2001.  I needed only to complete the Student Teaching class (9 units) to fulfill all the requirements for the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (K-8) with CLAD.
